Description

In the glass, it shows a deep cherry color with violet highlights and aromas of red and black fruits, along with herbal and balsamic notes. It is dense in flavor, smooth, rounded, and balanced, with medium body and fine tannins. It has a long and mineral finish due to the slate soils of the region.

Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez was founded in 1994 by Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza, former roommates at the University of Bordeaux, with the aim of reviving Spain’s old and indigenous vineyards. The company manages approximately 355 small plots with a total area of around 80 hectares, cultivating 43 native grape varieties. Their mission is to highlight Spain’s viticultural heritage, always guided by tradition and terroir.
Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra is made from 100% Garnacha grapes from old vines over 80 years old in the Sierra de Gredos, at altitudes between 900 and 1,200 meters, grown on slate soils. It is aged for 24–30 months in French oak barrels (400–600 lt.).
