Description

In the glass, it has a deep purple color, aromas of blackcurrant, ink, violet, and pepper. On the palate, it has a full body with velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, mineral finish, typical of the Rhône. A delightful wine with the potential to age for 12+ years. It pairs perfectly with lamb, veal, mushroom dishes, or spicy cheeses.

Maison Tardieu-Laurent is a prominent wine merchant (négociant) in France, known for producing high-quality wines from the Rhône Valley. It was founded in 1994 by Michel Tardieu and Dominique Laurent. The vineyards come from “vieilles vignes” – old vines aged 50 to 70 years, mainly on sandy and clayey soils with a granite base. This age results in low yields and intense fruit concentration. The wine is fermented with natural yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (often 1-3 years old) to preserve the purity of the fruit and the finesse of the terroir.
