Agios Chronos is a blend of Syrah and Viognier grape varieties and has a deep ruby color. Aromas of violet, licorice, citrus fruit and sweet fruit balance extremely well with the aromas of the barrel. The palate is spicy with soft and strong tannins. It has a velvety texture and long finish. You can drink it now or you can age it for 10 more years. We suggest Agios Chronos to be decanted for 30 minutes before consumption to let the aromas evolve. You could pair it with cooked red meat, pasta with red sauce or duck.

The story of the Avantis Estate in Evia began in 1994, when the first bottling took place. The family owns 20 hectares and a modern winery. Every wine has the expression of the area’s terroir. Agios Chronos is the result of a combination of two varieties, Syrah and Viognier. The two varieties are winemaking together, go through a long extraction, mature and age for 12 months in new French oak barrels. Agios Chronos is not filtered before bottling therefore any amount of sediment in the bottle is normal. Its name, Agios Chronos, indicates the time it needs the wine until it’s ready.
