Titanas 2015, Domaine Skouras 500ml

Titanas 2015 from the Skoura Estate is a naturally sweet red wine from Nemea with unique complexity and depth of character. In the glass, it has a deep, opaque ruby color and aromas of plum, cherry, fig, date, and sweet grape. There are also notes of chocolate, smoke, mint, and spices such as nutmeg and licorice. On the palate, the wine has a rich body and a balance between sweetness, tannins, and acidity. The aromas on the palate are consistent with those on the nose, with chocolate and nutmeg dominating. Titan combines depth, balance, and aging potential, as it has the strength to age for more than 20 years. Titan impresses with its long finish and velvety texture.  You can serve it chilled, at 6–8 °C, after a meal or as an aperitif, or pair it with chocolate, dried fruit and nuts, or mature cheeses. Each sip reveals the depth and finesse of Nemea.

The history of the winery began in 1986, when George Skouras realized his vision for quality Greek wines. In 2004, he established a modern winery in Malandreni, northwest of Argos, in the Nemea region. Today, Skouras Estate owns vineyards in Argolis, Corinthia, and Nemea. The family bases its philosophy on purity, clarity, and the authentic expression of the terroir. To produce Titan, the grapes are sun-dried for eight days and remain in the shade for another thirty-eight days before vinification. Then, the wine ferments, matures for five months in oak barrels, and ages for five years in the bottle. The result is a wine with depth, complexity, and a distinct identity that expresses Nemea’s philosophy of authentic sweet wines
