Álvaro Palacios is considered one of Spain’s most important winemakers, who put Priorat on the international wine scene. His winery is located in the village of Gratallops, in the DOCa Priorat region of Catalonia. The area is distinguished by its schistose “licorella” soil, high altitudes (350-700 m), and steep slopes. The Mediterranean climate, with its maritime influence and wide temperature variations, contributes to the complexity of the wines.
