Description

Synoro Skoura is a fine blend of Agiorgitiko, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes, sourced from mountain vineyards in Argolis at an altitude of approximately 650 meters. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby color with vivid highlights. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry, strawberry, and red berries, harmoniously combined with notes of chocolate, cinnamon, cedar, and a subtle hint of oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich, with balanced acidity and ripe, dense tannins that lend it structure and aging potential. The flavors mirror the aromas on the nose, with fruit dominating, while the finish is long, intense, and complex. Aging takes place in French oak barrels for approximately 12–13 months, followed by bottle aging before release. It pairs perfectly with red meats, game, dishes with rich sauces, and stews, making it an excellent choice for discerning wine lovers seeking depth, structure, and the potential to age gracefully. A wine with a strong personality and high complexity, showcasing the expertise of the Skouras Estate and the vitality of the Greek vineyard.

Skouras Estate is one of the most dynamic and renowned Greek wineries, based in the Peloponnese and centered in the Nemea region. It was founded in 1986 by oenologist George Skouras, who studied and trained in Burgundy, gaining a deep understanding of European winemaking traditions. His vision was to create high-quality wines that would combine Greek character with international standards. The estate-owned vineyards are located in select regions of the Peloponnese, such as Nemea, Argolis, and Mantinia, where both Greek varieties—primarily Agiorgitiko—and international varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay. The modern winery in Malandreni, which has been in operation since 2004, is designed to ensure high quality standards at every stage of production, while also offering a comprehensive wine tourism experience, including tours and tastings. The estate’s philosophy is based on respect for the terroir and minimal intervention during winemaking, with the aim of highlighting the varietal purity and authenticity of each wine.
