A red dry wine with deep-red colour and a complex bouquet of ripe dark fruits such as raspberries, raisins, coffee and cacao. On the palate, gentle tannins are supported by an abundance of fruit, creating power and balance. The aftertaste continues with a repetition of the spices. Excellent ageing potential. Will pair with Red meat stews in spicy sauces, game.

Avaton’s origin is Epanomi in Thessaloniki. Ktima Gerovassiliou cultivates the privately owned vineyard of 710 acres. Their aim is to produce quality wines. Epanomi is surrounded by the sea, with a Mediterranean climate and land rich in marine fossils. The first winemaking took place in 1986 at the modern winery located in the vineyard. This red dry wine is a blend of three varieties: Limnio, Mavroudi and Mavrotragano. Following extraction and completion of alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in special oak tanks from Burgundy, the wine matures in French oak barrels.
