Description

It has aromas of ripe red and black fruits mixed with spicy notes of vanilla, cloves, cinnamon and cigar. The palate is complex, long and structured with round, firm tannins and finishes with a long red fruit aftertaste. A juicy wine that would pair well with succulent meats, such as a slow-roasted leg of lamb.

Viña Cobos makes wines that are authentic expressions of the terroir from which they come. Paul Hobbs, founding partner and winemaker at Viña Cobos, has been working since 1988 in exploring the different regions of Mendoza, seeking out the most distinguished areas in Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco to produce wines that uniquely express their origins. Sustainable farming methods in the vineyard contribute to consistent yields of healthy fruit. At the winery, careful grape processing and meticulous winemaking techniques result in complex and elegant wines of delicacy and balance. Luján de Cuyo is historically known as the “first zone” for viticulture in Mendoza. Its high altitude location (3,018-3,537 feet), combined with its semi-arid climate and low nutrient gravel soils, provide ideal conditions for growing high quality grapes. Bramare Malbec spends 18 months in new and used French and American oak barrels and is bottled unfiltered.
