Dafni Psarades, Lyrarakis Winery 750ml

Daphne has a bright yellow colour. The nose is dominated by herbal aromas such as bay and rosemary with citrus fruit notes. On the palate it is cool, balanced and salty with lively acidity and an intense aromatic aftertaste. Pair it with fried small fish, seafood, cuttlefish with spinach, white meat, legumes and pies with greens and aromatic herbs.

Lyrarakis Winery was founded by brothers Manolis and Sotiris on the island of Crete in 1966. Today they have been taken over by second generation winemakers, supported by an extended family of skilled professionals. From the beginning, they have been dedicated to reviving rare Cretan grape varieties, exploring and capturing the unique terroir, with the aim of producing wines with a distinctive character. The Cretan variety Dafni was saved from extinction by the Lyrarakis family when it was planted in the vineyard “Psarades” at an altitude of 480m in the early 1990s. Its name is derived from the laurel plant because of its aromatic similarity.
