Labyrinth 9921, Domaine Skouras 750ml

The colour of the wine is deep scarlet with some brick red highlights. In the nose is mature, concentrated, with depth and enormous complexity. The aromatic character is focused on ripe red fruits, such as sour cherry, blackberry and cherry, along with spicy characters such as nutmeg, cinnamon and black pepper. Notes of herbs and cedar unfold. The palate is rich, full and smooth with well-structured tannins and vivid acidity. So mature, yet so young at the same time. The mouth flavours follow closely those of the nose with all the characteristics even more accentuated. The finish has elegance, power and complexity, giving the feeling that it will last forever.

In 2001, George Skouras filled a French foudre 1000 litre barrel for the first time with the final blend of the 1999 vintage of the Megas Oinos. Since then, every year, a quantity is removed from the barrel. It is replaced by the next vintage of the Mega Oinos. Thus creating a blend of consecutive vintages, one of a kind. The quantity removed is bottled under the name Labyrinth, producing a unique wine each year in a limited number of bottles.
