Emilien has a red color that, depending on its vintage, has different shades (ruby, orange hues and onion skin). The wine has fruity nose with ripe red berries, gooseberry, roasted nuts (almond) and earthy notes. It has a full and delicate palate with velvety tannins and a long complex aftertaste. Thanks to its velvety tannins, you can drink Emilien young or after aging in order to discover the full depth of its terroir. A red dry wine, perfect to accompany family meals or delicacies such as Angus beef, grilled chicken or grilled tuna.

Le Puy sits at the same top of the plateau as Saint-Emilion, overlooking the Pomerol and Saint-Emilion districts. Dominating the Dordogne valley, at an altitude of 107 meters, it is the second highest point of the Gironde region. This position has given its name to the site since Roman times. Le Puy means high place, pedestal or mountain top. Over time and over generations or with the evolution of the estate and official regulations, their labels may have changed, older vintages can be found around the world with the labels “Château du Puy”, “Château le Puy”, “Château le Puy – Emilien”, or “L’Ô du Puy”. This unfiltered red wine is produced from vines planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Carmenere varieties.
