Born into a winemaking family, with extensive experience in wineries in New Zealand, Germany and South Africa, 29-year-old Christoph Heiss, decided to focus on his own project in Austria’s eastern Kamptal. Using selected vineyards from the 12 hectares of the Weingut Heiss estate, Christoph has developed a very small production of stunning natural wines called “Malinga”. The organically grown grapes are hand-picked, spontaneously fermented and some are aged on their lees. All the wines are bottled unfiltered, unstocked and with added low sulfur content.
