The House of Jacquesson was created by Claude Jacquesson and his son Memmie in 1798 in Dizy, in the Marne Valley. Its champagne was the favourite champagne of Napoleon I. Their vineyard extends over 28 hectares and consists of Grand Cru and Premiers Crus. The house is distinguished for its famous “Cuvée 700”, a concept that aims to produce a champagne from a blend of several years old. The Cuvée 747 from Maison Jacquesson, is from the 2019 harvest and is created from a blend of Chardonnay (57%), Pinot Meunier (22%) and Pinot Noir (21%). After an initial fermentation of the wine in oak barrels and aging in fine lees, a 33% reserve blend is added. This is followed by secondary fermentation in bottle using the traditional method and ageing on lees for at least 36 months.
