Founded in 1902, Bodega Catena Zapata from Argentina plays one of the key roles in the “resurrection” of Malbec and the discovery of new terroirs at the foot of the Andes, in Mendoza. The family’s vineyard “Adrianna Vineyard”, is located at an altitude of almost 1500 metres and is considered as the Grand Cru of South America, with Nicolás Catena Zapata being the first winemaker who not only made the decision to cultivate the Argentinian Malbec, but also French varieties in such large areas altitudes, introducing the philosophy of “High Altitude Vineyards”.
