Description
A red wine with a medium ruby color. It has intense aromas of flowers (lilac & violet), cherry, raspberry, strawberry jam embraced by notes of licorice, pepper, vanilla, tea leaves, leather and tobacco. In the mouth it has balanced acidity and moderate but ripe tannins. The flavors follow the nose and are embraced by notes of vanilla, pepper, cedar, tea, tobacco and meat that complete the flavor set. An excellent combination of veal carpaccio, mushrooms, pasta with meat, and pot-roast veal.

Lapis Luna means “stone” and “moon”. The winery was founded in 1999 and is located in Mendocino, on the North Coast of California. They claim to deliver a “once in a blue moon” experience with every bottle. Each Lapis Luna tag has a faceless hero overcoming obstacles in a timeless story of ambition and redemption. The quest depicted on the bottles reflects the hero’s journey to reach the moon. The artwork on the Lapis Luna Pinot Noir label came from a 400-year-old engraving from the early 1600s, published by the poet Herman Hugo.
