Lions de Suduiraut, a classic Sauternes with an intense golden color. It has exuberant aromas of candied and honeyed fruits, notes of tobacco, flowers and minerality. This is followed by vanilla and passion fruit aromas. The palate follows the exuberance of the nose with fruit flavors, nut notes and an acidity that balances the sweet flavors and adds freshness. The finish is long with notes of nuts. It goes well with salted nuts, fruit desserts, cheese platters and foie gras.

The estate was named Suduiraut in 1580. It was renamed Cru du Roy at the end of the 18th century when it was taken over by a nephew of the Suduiraut family, Jean Joseph Duroy, Baron of Noaillan. On April 18, 1855 the estate entered the classification of Premier Cru in the Gironde wine region. AXA Millésimes acquired Château Suduiraut in 1992 with the aim of preserving and perpetuating the estate’s remarkable tradition in vineyard management and winemaking. As is often the case in the top Sauternes estates, the harvest is done in successive passes through the vineyard to ensure that all bunches are at optimal botrytis levels at harvest.
