In 1885, Felipe Rutini founded the winery Bodega La Rural in Coquimbito, Maipu, which marked Rutini Wines entrance into the world of wine. From the beginning, Felipe Rutini was guided by the motto ‘’Labor and Perseverance’’. This attitude shaped the development of this wines, which became synonymous with superlative quality. Following his innovative spirit, in 1925 the winery began to plant vines in the Uco Valley. From those first pioneering vines, the region has continued to expand its plantings and become one primary wine-producing areas in Mendoza. Rutini Vin doux Naturel is a naturally sweet white wine from Verdicchio, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Gewurztraminer grape varieties. The fruit is coming from Gualtallary in Mendoza, the harvest is manual, and the wine is ageing for 15 months in French new oak. It appears to have bright and sparkly golden yellow color. This naturally sweet wine is produced by jointly allowing the grapes to over-ripen (late harvest) and the action of the botrytis cinereal fungus. This affects the cluster, dehydrating each berry and allowing-at the same time- the maximum increase of sugar level in the grapes. The result is a wine with a unique nose with floral, apple, backed quince, hone aromas. It is suggested to serve it at 5-6 0C and to age it for another 10 years. You could pair it with foie gras, intense cheese like blue cheese Roquefort style, Danish blue, Gorgonzola, Stilton, crème brullee, fruity desserts.
