A red dry wine with intense deep ruby color. Its nose is expressive and complex. Aromas of red berry, dried fig and tomato juice are the first to be perceived. Those are followed by aging aromas, such as vanilla, plum, roasted almond. Its mouth is full, rich with ripe velvety tannins. There is a balance between the strong acidity and fruit flavors. Its aftertaste is long and pleasant with a feeling of cocoa and red fruits completing it. You could pair 1879 Boutari Legacy with red meat (cooked or grilled) or game.

The Boutari Winery owns 6 wineries in Greece. In 1879, the Boutaris Company was founded in the town of Naoussa in Northern Greece having a main goal of producing and trading quality bottled red wine. In 1906, the first privately owned winery and wine retail store was built in Naoussa. The first Greek red bottled wine, “Naoussa Boutari”, will be produced and bottled in this winery. A classic red vinification was held for the 1879 Boutari Legacy with a strong degree of extraction of components, necessary for a wine that is aging. The wine remains in French oak barrels for approximately 24 months.
