Mikra Thira or Thirasia (Terrasea). The new winery, which now operates there, took its name from the small island opposite to Santorini. It is an effort of three people established in the wine field who produce wines from local varieties of Thirasia. Vangelis Gerovasileiou, Vassilis Tsaktsarlis and Ioanna Vamvakouri join their forces and knowledge, researching and evaluating the soils and conditions of the island. The privately owned vineyards are cultivated organically. Terrasea is the first Protected Designation of Origin Santorini, but it is produced from grapes grown in Thirasia.
