This textured Chardonnay is from a vineyard planted on the highest clay slopes of Mount Helderberg. The site has a maritime influence that gives the grapes incredible intensity of flavor and spicy freshness. It has complex aromas of crushed lime and yellow grapefruit. Its rich mouthfeel overwhelms us with flavours of tangerine, pear and a touch of saltiness. The aftertaste is long and enjoyable.

In 2013, Chris and Andrea Mullineux teamed up with Analjit Singh and established the Leeu Passant winery at Analjit’s stunning Leeu Estates in Franschhoek, Stellenbosch. The winery focuses on expressing the South African landscape and climate, as well as celebrating South African winemaking and viticultural heritage. Their commitment to quality and deep respect for the environment and their employees have earned them recognition both nationally and internationally, and Mullineux & Leeu Passant wines have gained a world-class reputation. The Chardonnay was spontaneously fermented in oak barrels followed by natural malolactic fermentation. After remaining on lees for 12 months, it was batonnage, minimal sulphur was added and aged for 6 months in barrel before bottling.
