For Versino Châteauneuf-du-Pape Selection Laurence Feraud 2019, the Domaine Pegau, selects Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvedre varieties giving an excellent sample of the region. It has intense aromas of herbs, ripe red and black fruits with an emphasis on cherry and fig, licorice, dried flowers, pepper and skin. Exuberant on the mouth but also elegant, with fruit flavors, lively tannins and spicy aftertaste that lasts. You could enjoy it now but time will make it better. You could pair it with feathered game grilled meat, poultry with vegetables or mushroom dishes.

Domaine Pegau started bottling in the 1980s. The Feraud family has been cultivating vines for centuries. Unique vines, biodynamic cultivation. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape, is located under the Umbrella of the Estate (Domaine Pegau), while the Côtes du Rhône is located under the Chateau Pegau. A range of wines made from purchased grapes (derived from biodynamic vines and lower in price) are marketed as Selection Laurence Feraud and the producer is referred to as Versino. A wine that is not made from the vineyards of Domaine Pegau, but from strictly selected vineyards in the nearby winery of the Versino family. His character represents Domaine: elegant, multi-layered, silky.
