It appears to have a red-ruby color. On the nose, complex aromas like dark chocolate, raisins, liqueur bonbon, eucalyptus, roasted coffee and cream stand out, with hints of spices and fine wood. Complex and long in the mouth, with good structure and balance between alcohol and well-polished tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent, with lingering fruity notes. You could pair it with red meat cooked with herbs, lightly smoked red meat and cold cuts.

Bodegas Sonsierra was born in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in the heart of a region with unique characteristics for growing grapes, where Tempranillo found its ideal habitat. In 1962, more than 240 winegrowers decided to pool their 430 hectares of vineyards, making an old wish of the town’s farmers come true: the creation of a cooperative in which they make their own wines. The county of Sonsierra is in the very heart of the Rioja PDO region. Bordered by the Cantabrian Mountains to the north and the River Ebro to the south, throughout history it has gained a reputation in the province for the exceptional quality of its wines. Sonsierra’s unique microclimate and terroir combine to give its Tempranillo grapes a very special character. A special selection of their highest quality old vineyard, which is more than 40 years old, harvested by hand. Pagos de la Sonsierra is a red dry wine from Tempranillo grape variety.
