A red dry wine from the Syrah variety with a deep ruby color. The complex aromas on the nose consist of spices, pepper, cinnamon, tobacco, black fruits such as plum and raspberry, notes of vanilla and jam. It has rich mouthfeel, hints of spice and mature well-structured tannins, with a long aftertaste. You could enjoy it now or cellar it for another 8 years. It is recommended to decant it to a carafe 30 minutes before serving it, in order to highlight its aromas. Pairs perfectly with cooked red meat, smoked red meat or pasta with slightly spicy sauce.

The story of the Avantis Estate in Evia, began in 1994, with the first bottling taking place at the same time. The family has 20 hectares and a modern winery. Every wine has an expression of the area’s terroir. Syrah Avantis is what made the producer Apostolos Mountrichas known for. Syrah goes through a classic red winemaking process with a long extraction for 20-30 days under controlled temperature in order to improve the aromas. Malolactic fermentation takes place and then it matures for 12 months in new French oak barrels of 225 liters.
