Description
A dry red wine from the Xinomavro grapes with violet hues. It has rich aromas of ripe red fruits, spices and wood. Its mouth is full and has well-crafted tannins and a long aftertaste. You could enjoy it immediately or cellar it for the next few years. You could pair it with grilled meat, meat with red sauce and yellow cheeses.

The Foundi family comes from Strantza in Eastern Thrace. In 1914, along with other refugees from their village, they arrived in the area of Naoussa of western Macedonia, and established the settlement of Nea Strantza. The special and attentive care of the vineyards, in combination with the modern technology and know-how in the winemaking process, were the means to achieve their goal. Ktima Foundi red wine is produced from a single vineyard of 6 acres located in Karaoutsa, Strantza, in the heart of the wine-growing area of Naoussa. It has an altitude of 200m. and its soil is “sand” which favors the development of the aromas of the fine Xinomavro variety. Its aging in French oak barrels lasts for one year, followed by the aging of the wine in the bottle for at least 12 months, in order to develop its full aromatic potential.
