Philosopher, Akrathos Winery 750ml

Philosopher has a deep red colour and is dominated by aromas of fresh red and black fruits. Cherries, berries and plums are accompanied by notes of vanilla, spices and chocolate. Full mouthfeel with exuberant fruit, ripe tannins and a charming, long finish. Enjoy it at 16-18°C and pair beautifully with grilled or cooked red meats, game, mature cheeses and cold cuts.

The Akrathos winery is located in Halkidiki and the first vineyard plantings began in 2009 and the construction of the winery in 2014. The primary goal of the winery is to produce excellent wines from indigenous Greek varieties that reflect a unique terroir of the region. They apply organic farming and minimal intervention methods, thus preserving the ecological integrity of the area and the unique soil of the plots. For Philosopher, a classic red vinification has been done, then fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 12 months in french oak barrels.
