Description

Armyra has green-yellow color with a few greenish hues. The nose opens with aromas of ripe peach, tropical fruit such as pineapple and hints of lemon. Aromas of butter, bread and caramel follow. The mouth is rich and smooth with flavours similar to those on the nose and balanced by crisp acidity. The finish is long, complex, and with constant evolution. You can drink it now or you can keep it for 1-2 more years. You could pair it with seafood, salads or fish.

A long-held vision, the creation of Domaine Skouras materialized in 1986. The establishment of the final winery in Malandreni, also in the Nemea Appellation, took place in 2004. For the Domaine Skouras team, technology is all about control and observation, allowing for minimal intervention on the wines, if and when it is needed – and only to the requisite extent. Domaine Skouras is located in the Northeastern Peloponnese, in Argolida, within the Nemea zone. The philosophy permeating all of the Estate’s wines is reflected in the words: purity, varietal clarity, tracing of the region’s mesoclimate, imprint of the terroir. In Domaine Skouras, the wines are engraved by the character of their terroir. Armyra is a white dry wine made of the varieties Chardonnay and Malagouzia. The vinification of the varieties are quite different. Chardonnay: Skin contact for 6 hours at 14˚C. Alcoholic fermentation at 16˚C. 70% fermented in stainless steel vats. 30% fermented in new 225L French oak barriques, carried out malolactic fermentation and aged sur lie for six months with regular batonnage. Malagouzia: Skin contact for 24 hours at 10˚C. Alcoholic fermentation at 16˚C in stainless steel vats and ageing sur lie for 6 months with regular batonnage. The final blend was bottled under a stelvin closure and matured in bottle for three months in their cellar.
