Description

Granito has a bright yellow color with golden highlights. The nose is dominated by aromas of ripe lemon and pear, with a distinct minerality. The flavors follow the aromas and leave a salty aftertaste. Goes great with smoked fish, seafood pasta and yellow cheeses.

The history of the estate begins with the dream of an adventurous young Frenchman, Emile Bouchon, who left his small home in Arveyers, France in 1887 to discover the wine lands of Chile. His grandson, Julio Bouchon, decided to look for a new terroir to continue the family’s viticultural work. He fell in love with the granitic soils in the interior dry region of the Maule Valley, acquiring in 1977 in the state of Mingre, a remote estate, which had old dry-cultivated vineyards. Granito is the product of non-irrigated vines planted in the 1940s. The grapes are hand selected and aged for 12 months in French barrels.
