Daou Chardonnay, Daou Vineyards 750ml

Daou Chardonnay is a dry white wine with aromas of flowers (honeysuckle, jasmine), sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and stone fruit. The palate is rich, with flavors of pear, apple, papaya, nuts, while citrus and cinnamon notes follow through to the finish. You can pair it with salads, pasta with creamy white sauce, but you can also enjoy it as an aperitif.

Georges and Daniel Daou are inseparable as brothers, friends and visionaries. The family’s story began with a successful furniture company, in Lebanon in the 1950s. Everything changed with the civil war, where they were forced to leave and settle in France. Later, in the 80’s, Georges and Daniel moved to California to pursue their American dream and created Daou Systems, a very successful networking technology company. In 1998, the brothers sold the company and a new dream with roots in France emerged. They knew they were destined to become winemakers, bought an estate in Paso Robles and that’s how it all began. Daou Vineyards is at the top of Daou mountain and is 212 acres. Its limestone and clay soils mimic the right bank of Bordeaux, which is why they chose to grow the famous French varieties there. The result is the creation of world-class wines with tremendous structure and finesse.
