A white brut champagne made of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grapes. During the vinification the fermentation and the maturation took place in tanks and stayed with its lees for about 36 months. There is no add of yeasts, malolactic fermentation, unfined and unfiltered. A white brut with aromas of flowers, stone fruit, white peach, herbal notes, citrus and spicy notes. On the mouth we detect flavors of green fruits, citrus fruits, plum, yellow plum, hints of caramel and barrel. You could enjoy it as an aperitif, or you could pair it with smoked meat or fish, matured cheese.

Egly- Ouriet produces wines that express the terroir of the area, champagne primarily from the noble Grand Cru village of Ambonnay (the top village for Pinot Noir in Champagne), where it is widely regarded as the finest grower. In total, the vineyard, where the vine’s average age is 40 years, covers around 10 hectares on the Grand Cru areas of Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay, with two thirds of Pinot noir and the rest shared between Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Depending on the harvest’s and the wine’s characteristics, Francis Egly, the current owner, varies the proportion of the barrel’s ages from 1 to 5 years since 1995, in which the wine is going to age in varying proportions, thus letting every terroir express itself, instead of following a steady recipe. There hasn’t any malolactic fermentation since 1999, to preserve the wine’s freshness and the disgorging dates are mentioned on the back labels. Contrary to Champagne, who sells its bottles younger and younger, Francis Egly, following his father Michel, patiently builds a treasure that allows him to sell his bruts after four years of ageing, and his vintages after six years. Translated from the French, ‘prémices’ signifies “a beginning.” Derived from the Latin primitiae, which means the first fruits of a harvest, set aside as an offering to the gods in antiquity. The Champagne Les Premices is the result of an equal blend of three classic grapes grown in the Champagne region: Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzenay and Vrigny.
