The story of Deutz began in 1838. William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann joined their forces to create high quality wines. Deutz is known for producing balanced, elegant wines from the classic Champagne blends of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. After many generations, the ownership of Deutz passed into the hands of Louis Roederer in 1983. The majority of the vineyards are located in the Aÿ and Côte de Blancs, however, they also work with external suppliers. Moreover, 80% of the grapes are Grand Cru and Premier Cru. At the winery, the base wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks. Champagne Deutz Brut Rose is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, while it remains in the bottle with the fine lees for about 2 years.
