We are pleased to invite you to try the new arrivals in our “natural wines” category from Pure Spirit Wines! These wines are produced in French vineyards, from selected small wineries that you will find at our e-shop in limited availability.
Natural wines are gaining more and more wine lovers’ attention and are now available for purchase and consumption in various stores, as the need for environmentally friendly products is constantly increasing. It is a trend that is here to stay, as we have the possibility to enjoy excellent wines that have no additives. If we also look for the story behind it, for the soil, the vineyard, the vinification, the interest becomes greater and the stories of wine producers are very impressive.
The philosophy
The philosophy of natural wines is based on the fact that the vineyard and its environment are a living whole, just like the wine itself. The producer respects and highlights the terroir and all the data of nature that are available.
The whole process of creating a natural wine should be non-intrusive, not only in the cultivation of the soil and the care of the vine, but also in the vinification, in the maturation, even in the bottling of the wine.
What are the requirements for a natural wine?
The grapes are cultivated either organically, biodynamically or with the philosophy of permaculture (sustainable cultivation). The harvest and sorting of the grapes are done by hand. The wine ferments with its own yeasts and not with commercial yeasts. Additives and correctors are not allowed, such as tartrates to correct acidity or clarifying agents to clear the wine. Processes such as filtration are prohibited and the use of sulfites is very limited or nil.
